Over the last 50 years, we have lost 90% of our cherry orchards and now import around 95% of the cherries we eat. This Saturday (14 May 2011) millions of small producers, artisans, farmers and small-hold manufacturers, Fair Trade producers, traders and consumers will celebrate World Fair Trade Day.
A worldwide celebration supported by the business and consumer community, by policy makers and media as well as by thousands of social movements, NGOs and more than 100.000 volunteers.

Fabulous Fairtrade accessories and jewellery have arrived!
Just in are some great, new season Fairtrade accessories and jewellery. My personal favourite is the Patchwork bag made from recycled cotton and hand patchworked into a great looking bag ideal for summer. I am also really pleased to be able to offer eco-friendly scarves made from natural fibre viscose. It has taken me awhile to be able to source a producer that covers all the environmental and ethical elements of viscose production, but gladly we now have one. Now we know for sure that the factories used to produce these scarves have a strict environmental impact policy and effective effluent treatment process in place. New website goes live!
As promised our new and improved website is ready and has gone live today. Thank you to all of you who took part in our web survey and for your useful feedback. We have incorporated most your requests into the new site and come up with some additional benefits that will hopefully make shopping online with us a more enjoyable process.
The new site now benefits from a different layout, a dedicated news page, more and larger product images, product filters by price and brand, upcoming events on each page, promotional offer box at the checkout, easy to use newsletter sign up and links to more contact options such as our Skype account and Facebook page. We hope that the site has been tested completely, but if you do encounter any glitches as you look around the site please let us know, so that we can repair them ASAP. Simply email us as info@pickledgreenclothing.co.uk if you spot anything or to just let us know what you think of the new site.

First event of the year goes well!
The event season for us has started off really well and we had a great day at the Vegfest in Brighton on Saturday 19th March. There was a large interest in the jewellery and we will be endeavouring to put on the new site more of the Cocoart jewellery as soon as we can.
